flattened image

Postby sstgerma » Wed Oct 04, 2017 11:25 am

I am new to forge.js and hoping to use it to create a small virtual tour using images taken with a Ricoh Theta S camera. I downloaded the hotspot example. When I changed the path for the first image from "url": "https://cdn.forgejs.org/samples/hotspots-actions/pano-0.jpg" to a relative path to my image "/images/fourth_floor.jpg" I see my image but it is zoomed in and not pannable - It appearse static. The image looks fine/spherical in the theta app so am sure meta data is intact. Any ideas?

Some additional information to add on this. I am running the example in a Grails 3 web app. When I change the url to from the cdn hosted absolute path, "url": "https://cdn.forgejs.org/samples/hotspots-actions/pano-0.jpg" to a saved locally relative path, "url": "/images/pano/pano-0.jpg" the image gets flattened out as well.

Hello !

Can you share a sample image from your theta with us ?
We can do some tests with theta output files.

You can also share you config.json to see if everything is ok :)

I am using the config.json from http://forgejs.org/samples/hotspots-with-actions. It is in the download in this directory: forgejs_full_package_0.9.4\samples\projects\hotspots-actions example. I am just changing the url path to the image from "url": "https://cdn.forgejs.org/samples/hotspots-actions/pano-0.jpg" to a relative path "url": "/images/pano-0.jpg" in my app.

When pano-0.jpg is referenced with the full path the image is pannable/spherical but when I use the relative path to the image my app shows the correct image but it is zoomed in and not spherical. Given this I don't think it's specific to my theta image.

I can't reproduce your issue with a custom equirectangular file loaded with relative path.
Work like a charm if you put your equi image next to the config.json file with this kind of url :

Code: Select all

"source":
{
    "format": "equi",
    "url": "./equirectangular.jpg"
}
