WebVR not working

Postby apoudel » Sat Feb 17, 2018 11:53 pm

Hello,
I am new to the framework, I am planning to create VR 3d tour. I found out that it supports WebVR and wanted to try it out so I went to the http://forgejs.org/samples/simple-project. I tried almost every platform Gear VR, Daydream, Vive.

Whenever I would click the VR button in

1. Gear VR
-> It just keeps on loading, I can browse other VR websites like https://aframe.io/ just fine.

2. Daydream
->It gives the "Webpage is not responding error". I can browse other VR contents just fine.

3. Vive
-> It does the split screen but it's not responsive. the scene moves with your head and it's not 3d.

I don't know if I am doing anything wrong. Any advice is appreciated.

Hello apoudel,

WebVR is broken on the last release so it is normal.
We are currently reworking all the rendering code so a new version will be released asap.

Have a nice day !

No ETA but I hope we'll be able to release something Q2 2018.
The point is to release a reliable code base to it takes time to polish, it's for the best :)
We are working on transition between scenes and we have a lot of work to achieve this.

Hi,

In this case can we use ForgeJS 0.9.4 ? please suggest. Or how about Nightly build where we might have fixed this ? (as we want to have Google Maps plugin too? :-)
