hotspot placement

Postby sstgerma » Tue Oct 10, 2017 11:51 am

I would like to add hotspots to several panorama images and am not sure how to place them. I installed the hotspot tool and then panned through my image making note of the pitch, roll, yaw and fov for several hotspot locations. However in the config.json file the hotspots need theta, phi and radius. Is there a way to translate my values from the plugin into what is required? Is there a better approach to take on this? Please let me know.

Hi sstgerma,

By hotspot tool you mean the Forge Editor plugin ?
In the editor you have a save button that exports only the hotspot array of the scene configuration.
You can just copy paste the configuration in your project.

You can express hotspot coordinates for position in two ways:
- x, y, z that are 3D world coordinates.
- radius, theta, phi that are spherical coordinates.

The editor will give you the x, y, z, world coordinates but you can use them as is.

The 0.9.5 Forge version should be released very soon and we made improvement to the Editor plugin.
I hope you'll enjoy the new plugin features :)

Have a nice day
